The report details what places have increased the most in popularity for the new season, compared to the same period last year. A number of factors contribute to a destination’s rise in popularity but judging from the list, the promise of lesser crowds and fall foliage, as well as the lure of major events, play the biggest roles this year.
With that in mind, it should come as no surprise – especially to rugby fans – that Beppu and Ōita in Japan are two of the most popular cities for fall travel this year with guests arrivals up 288% and 237% respectively compared to 2018.
